Day 16 - Sunrise at Jenkinsen Lake

Jenkinsen Lake is a beautiful place for camping and hiking around. Unfortunately it’s proximity to Sacramento means that it’s also super crowded. Luckily though, Kyle and I were the only two people up at about 5:30 a.m. so we got the lake to ourselves for some sunrise photos. There aren’t many things better in this world than sitting along a huge body of water during a sunrise or a sunset. After the sunrise we both went back to the campground and tried to catch a few more Zs, hoping the sun would keep us warmer (this was not the case). At about 9 a.m. we both gave up on trying to sleep and headed down to Placerville to find a tire patch and switch back to a real tire for the drive back to Sacramento. I hope the patch holds up until at least Friday when I get paid again. Fingers crossed!
